Monster drive drum/winch - 16 hydraulic motors mounted on each side zero to 120 MPH In 3 seconds
Receiving the first of 32 Bucher Hydraulics, gear hydraulic motors for inspection to determine the level of rebuild required. |
Tear-down and evaluation of all internal parts. All Parts were measured, fits and finishes checked for visible damage. |
Many internal parts were dye checked for wear and or cracks. A series of valve bushing were found to have cracks and light scoring. |
The gear sections on several motors were found to have severe damage on the section face as well as damage to the gears and gear rings. |
This gear and gear ring were so badly damaged we had to scrap the motor. The severity of wear from motor to motor was surprising. |
On some motors the shafts had to be replaced due to wear in the coupling area. Some Key ways in the gears were sheared. |
After refurbishment each motor was tested for a 6 hour period. Each shaft was locked up with tooling for 15 min. to measure internal leakage. |
Four of the motors were bi-rotational and they were tested for 1.5 hrs. in each direction. These motors also had extra valves to test. |
All of the motors were fully detailed & painted to "like-new" condition. Each motor weighed over 900 pounds which made handling difficult. |
